Q: How does Imation Media Performance Manager work?
The PC client communicates with the mainframe server as a VTAM 3270 session through the Windows or OS/2 graphical user interface. The user determines what information is required, specifies the display parameters, and transmits a request for data to the mainframe server. The mainframe server receives the request, collects and summarizes the error performance information according to the parameters defined by the user, and transmits the data back to the PC client, where the user can evaluate the data within an easily customizable view.
